Have a holly, jolly Christmas
It’s the best time of the year
I don’t know if there’ll be snow
But have a cup of cheer
Burl Ives, you have a voice of angels.
And you know what, yes, I WILL have “a cup of cheer”. And probably, er, likely more.
Here Comes the Holiday (like a freight train)
Yep, it’s coming.
I don’t know about you, but the holidays crush me every year. And I see it coming a mile away.
- Starbucks [fill-in-the-blank] latte — total sucker, I know
- Pumpkin Pie, Apple Crisp Pie, anything Pie!
- Bread (in particular, warm bread covered in lots of butter) — hey, it’s grass-fed butter, chill!
- Peppermint Bark
- Homemade Wassail (passed on through multiple generations) — well, maybe just one generation but it’s gooood
- Cookies, oh dear lord the sugar cookies
As I was saying, crushed. Though I maintain a pretty clean diet throughout the rest of the year, this season brings out my worst cravings.

But, you know what, this year I’m going to change my mindset a bit. And if you too struggle — even a little bit with finding balance — we’re here to help. We can still indulge (yes!), but we can also be more proactive in choosing what we shove down our festive gullet starting pre-Thanksgiving through New Years.
Here’s the secret weapon
Collagen.
That’s right. Collagen, in particular our multi collagen supplements that we dearly love (and our customers too). It’s packed with lots of great protein and amino acids that’ll help the shock-and-awe our gut is about to experience. See more collagen benefits.
Here are some holiday collagen recipes that are easy-to-make, delicious, and much healthier than (most) of what’s at your local bakery, holiday parties, and get-togethers.

Holiday Collagen Drinks Recipes
Let’s start with the liquids, they’re the simpler recipes.
Pumpkin Pie Collagen Latte
Why not kick off the holiday cooking preparations with a nutrient rich Pumpkin Pie Latte? Its warm, filling, decadent, and with a couple scoops of gut-healing collagen it will help prepare your digestive tract for the festive meal of which you are about to partake!
Cinnamon Coconut Collagen Latte
This Cinnamon Collagen Latte gives you all the comfort of a traditional latte, without the sugary carb crash, and works to repair your gut! This one is easy. Brew your coffee, combine in blender with other ingredients, and blend on high for 10-20 seconds, or until creamy and frothy. Oh, and hold down the lid!
Chocolate Peppermint Collagen Cocoa
Ditch the prepackaged cocoa stuff! Why? Because you’ll avoid toxic ingredients AND holiday-vibe-killers (aka sugar crashes). Try out this holiday cocoa instead. Combine a few scoops of collagen with a few ingredients from your pantry you’ll gain protein and gut-healing collagen, maintain your blood sugar, & keep those holiday vibes going!
Hot Almond Butter Collagen Cacao
This hot almond butter collagen cacao (AKA Super-Good-For-You-Hot-Chocolate) has the oh-so-delicious taste of Nutella but contains a lot more nutrients! Cacao is high in magnesium, which can help to lower blood pressure and relax muscles post workout, and it provides theobromine, a bitter alkaloid that supports healthy serotonin level (hello happiness).
Holiday Collagen Treats & Desserts Recipes
A little more involved, but totally worth it (your blood sugar will thank you).
Dark Chocolate Collagen Tart
This dark chocolate tart is creamy, decadent, sophisticated, and delicious! It happens to also contain antioxidants from dark chocolate, strong saturated fats from coconut milk, oil, and almond flour, and lots of great collagen protein. I’ve kept the glycemic index low by opting for an alternative (but still natural) sugar you body knows how to absorb (unlike fake sugar substitutes like equal or splenda).
Peanut Butter Collagen Krispies
To honor my sister’s efforts of growing her nuggets strong and healthy, I thought I’d try my hand at some ‘healthier’ more macro-rich version of one of the classic kiddo favorites, Rice Krispie Treats. I modified the ingredients to lower the sugar and carbs while maintaining flavor integrity and still make them power packed with gut-nurturing Protein and Collagen!
Pumpkin Spice Collagen Donuts
These donuts are WARM, DELICIOUS, and each only 105 Calories (that’s including the butter/Swerve sprinkle at the end), have 6 grams of protein, 19 reparation amino acids, healthy/healing saturated fats, and ½ a daily serving of collagen, and less than 1g of sugar per donut!
Holiday Collagen Entrees, Soups Recipes
If you have a little more prep time and meal planning.
Collagen Pumpkin Spaghetti Squash Mash
When I thought about the Traditional Sweet Potato casserole, I wondered what it would look like to combine high fiber and delicious sweet Pumpkin with equally high fiber but lower sugar Spaghetti Squash, and amp up the protein and fat balance of the dish with luxurious coconut milk, and grass fed butter or ghee and a few scoops of collagen powder.
Warm Pumpkin Spaghetti Squash Collagen Soup
Sweaters, Blankets, Bonfires…it’s Fall y’all. The warmth in this collagen soup comes from its spices and the decadent flavors of sweet pumpkin/spaghetti squash paired with luxurious coconut milk and spicy smoked turkey sausage. It’s balanced with Fiber, Fat, Protein and Greens!

I kid, I kid. Maybe. 🙂
